MSP extensions taking up too much space?

I used WinDirStat to see my HardDrive. And I have 10Gbs of different msp extensions. My windows file is over 14Gb. I only have 5Gb of free space. Is this normal? Or can I safely delete these file extensions? I read that they are from update patches for Microsoft. Thanks for any help
