My new keyboard is acting weird. Last one did the same. Characters are messed up. Help!?

Maybe someone changed the keyboard layout and you don't know about it? Try this go to Control Panel>Regional And Language Options>Languages>Details> You will see - Text Service And Input Languages Now you will see the keyboard layout you are using click add the keyboard you need and remove the one you won't use, just switch between US and UK keyboard because they had that character difference. If that's not it then i'm stumped.
