As leader of the confederacy, Jefferson Davis?

B. He was a poor administrator. He wanted to run everything everywhere at the closest possible level. He chose his cabinet based on the State the came from rather than their abilities and as such only found two people who managed to see the War out in the office they were given at the beggining of the conflict (Stephan Mallory as Naval Secretary and John Reagan as Postmaster General). Because Davis wanted to control the military side of things totally he used his Secretaries of War as errand boys and this led to the rise in Judah Benjamins unpopularity and eventual dissmisal from the role (as Benjamin didn't know how to do the job and was just a figure head for Davis) and the resignation of George Randolph from the post (as he realised it had no real power and he was simply being used by Davis as a figure head).
