Where can I get a 4 gear automatic transmission for a 78 chevy truck, here in Phx.?

I would think you could go to a wrecking yard or transmission shop. I recently put a 700r4 in my 79 Blazer and I couldn't be happier. It has a lower first gear as well as the overdrive.
