How can I convince my parents that I do not need to attend prom, graduation or any other event?

If you really want to convince your parents that you don't need to go to prom, maybe lighten up a little and start hanging out with friends a little. They just want you to become a little more social so they figure prom would be a good chance to socialize. So if you show them that you don't need to socialize any more by inviting peiple over or doing things with other people, then you might not have to go to prom even though it would be fun.
